Clipper Ships and Tea

Back in the mid 1800's, the tea trade exploded and the races across the waterways for tea were led by the Clipper Ships. My husband bought this model many years ago and we carried it from place to place.

Most of the English ships were slow and very difficult to operate so four proud Americans designed a ship that would go faster and brought a great challenge to Britain's sea power.
