What Actions Did The British Gov Take As A Direct Result Of The Boston Tea Party

The British closed the Boston port and put into place other laws that are known as the Intolerable Acts. The laws were the Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice Act 1774, Quartering Act, and the Quebec Act. The Massachusetts Government Act altered the government to bring it under control of the British Government. Under the act , Most government positions were to be appointed by the governor or the king. The Administration of Justice Act of 1774 allowed the governor to move trials of royal British officials to another colony or even to Great Britain if he believed the official could not get a fair trial in Massachusetts. The Quartering Act Had to do with all of the colonies and sought to create a more effective method of housing British troops in America. The Quebec Act was unrelated to the events in Boston, But the timing of it's passage led to it to be labeled as one of the Intolerable Acts. It basically enlarged the Providence on Quebec. The British hoped that by passing the "Intolerable Acts" they could isolate the radicals in Massachusetts.
