Has The Boston Tea Party Instilled In Americans A Subconscious Bias Towards Non-tea Beverage Consumption

Yeah yeah, stupid question but I'm curious. I mean, it looks like the United States used to be a nation of tea-drinkers before then. Since then, it appears that while there are certainly tea drinkers in the U.S., the number is considerably smaller than in other western nations (the beverage market for the U.S. appears to cater to coffee and soft drinks, with tea only really emerging as a popular beverage when the benefits of Green Tea were used in Lipton commercials). Just mulling over random stuff in my head...
